“It’s critical – critical, critical, critical – that they follow the science,” he says.
Joe Biden wasn’t happy to hear about Texas and Mississippi lifting their COVID restrictions.
During a White House sit-down on Wednesday, Biden criticized Texas and Mississippi rescinding their mask mandates and business restrictions, calling the move a “big mistake.”
“I think it’s a big mistake,” a masked Biden told reporters. “I hope everybody realized by now these masks make a difference.”
“We are on the cusp of being able to fundamentally change the nature of this disease because of the way in which we were able to get the vaccines into people’s arms,” he said, referring to the government’s Operation Warp Speed program launched under President Trump.
“The last thing, the last thing we need is Neanderthal thinking, that in the meantime ‘everything is fine, take off your masks’, forget it. It still matters.”
“It’s critical – critical, critical, critical – that they follow the science,” Biden continued. “Wash your hands, hot water. Do it frequently. Wear a mask and stay social distanced.”
“I know you all know, I wish to heck some of the elected officials knew that,” he added to the press pool.
Texas Gov. Abbott and Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves made the announcements Tuesday, citing low hospitalization numbers and high vaccine distribution figures.
But like Biden, leftists in general have vowed to continue restricting their own freedoms and boycott businesses who allow mask-less customers.
