Conservative activist Matt Walsh spoke out at a Tennessee legislative hearing objecting to children being provided transgender medications and medical procedures.

On Wednesday, Walsh attended a Tennessee State House Health Committee hearing where lawmakers were debating a bill that would ban children from being chemically castrated or genitally mutilated by destructive medical procedures disingenuously portrayed as “gender-affirming care.”

Walsh confronted several Democrats on the committee who questioned whether he was qualified to be putting forth his opinion.

In one instance Walsh spoke common sense to a Democrat who asked what qualifications he had to argue for or against the bill.

“The background that qualifies me to speak to this is I’m a human being with a brain and common sense and I have a soul,” Walsh replied to Rep. John Ray Clemmons, D-Nashville.

“So, therefore, I think it’s a really bad idea to chemically castrate children. That is my experience. Now, it’s true I didn’t go to college, but I did go to school long enough to learn how to read. So, I can read the data for myself and that’s exactly what I’ve done.”

The Tennessee lawmaker followed up, asking, “And for what purpose do you conduct your research and use this brain of yours?”

“I do this to protect children and keep them from being castrated and mutilated,” Walsh responded. “That’s one of the things I try to do.”

In another exchange, Walsh turned the tables on Democrat Rep. Caleb Hemmer (D), asking whether the lawmaker believed 16-year-olds were old enough to decide whether they should chop off a body part.

The lawmaker would not respond.

This is what happens when one person stands up to the liberal insanity that now has children square in its sights.
