Residents of area stricken by chemical contamination from train disaster have no one to blame but themselves, The View host sickeningly implies.

Residents of East Palestine, Ohio, affected by chemical contamination from a recent train disaster have no one to blame but themselves because they supported President Donald Trump, suggested The View host Joy Behar.

Behar attempted to argue on Thursday’s episode that Trump’s slashing of regulations during his time in office somehow caused the catastrophic train derailment.

“I don’t know why they would ever vote for him, somebody who, by the way, he placed someone with deep ties to the chemical industry in charge of the EPA’s chemical safety office,” Behar said.

Seemingly speaking to the people of East Palestine, she added, “That’s who you voted for in that district, Donald Trump, who reduces all safety.”

As has been noted, the people Columbiana County where East Palestine is located voted overwhelmingly for Trump during the 2020 election.

Behar also insisted the people of East Palestine “look past [Trump’s] photo ops” to “who is doing the job here.”

“It disgusted me,” co-host Sunny Hostin added.

Other co-hosts, Sara Haines and Alyssa Farah Griffin, argued “showing up” is not only good optics but also “a big thing” for East Palestine residents.

A clip of the interaction going viral on social media ends with Hostin agreeing with Behar, saying, “I think it’s Trump fault.”

In the wake of Trump’s massively successful visit to the town, it’s simply astounding The View hosts could be so out of touch with reality.
