‘The laughing crowd are cowards who will one day be thankful men like this stood up for freedom.’
Footage making its rounds on social media appears to show police officers forcibly removing a student from a college class after refusing to wear a face mask.
The incident took place at the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga, according to Twitter user Robby Starbuck.
Footage shows an officer approaching a student, who does not appear to be wearing a face mask, and tell him it’s the university’s right to ask him to leave.
“This young man was ‘dragged out’ from @UTChattanooga for not wearing a mask,” Starbuck described.
“The laughing crowd are cowards who will one day be thankful men like this stood up for freedom.”
Starbuck concluded the state’s Republican Governor Bill Lee should consider expanding his opt out mandate to colleges and universities.
“@GovBillLee We need you to expand your EO to allow opt-outs from forced masking at universities too.”
An update on the UTC’s website Monday ordered masks to be “worn by everyone in all public indoor spaces.”
“Masks are required indoors for everyone, regardless of vaccination status,” the site states.
